Wine-lovers have been invited to attend this year’s Enóphilo festival in the Algarve. The 2024 event (on Saturday 2 March) has previously been held in other areas throughout Portugal – 20 editions in all.
This first edition in the Algarve, at the Congress Centre (Forum) in the Dom Pedro Vilamoura hotel, will bring together more than 30 national producers, offering hundreds of wines to taste.
According to the organisers, these will include “many novelties and some curiosities, wines that represent some of the best that is produced in Portugal”.
The Enóphilo Wine Fest is scheduled to run from 3pm to 8pm, and admission is €15. More information at www.enophilo.pt.
Visitors who are in the area on the same day can also check out the monthly vintage fair in the local town of Quarteira. The fair, which is held on the first Saturday of every month and is dedicated to the sale of antiques, runs all day from 8am and entry is free.
Last year the Algarve Wine Commission unveiled a new wine route for tourists seeking the “perfect pairing” when visiting the region.
